We had the wonderful opportunity of serving the entire staff of Colonial Hills Elementary a drive by pick up lunch provided by Bar-B-Q Station during Teacher Appreciation Week. It was well received and the staff went out of their way to thank us for the caring gesture.
“Thank you for this beautiful meal! Love you and miss you dearly!”
“Hi, today’s lunch was delicious! Not even a morsel was left. Chicken had a good taste—smoked—no need for BBQ sauce.”
“Thank you to all who made this possible! It was delicious and worth the drive!”
Thank you for your continued prayer and support of God’s work during this time. We are hoping you have stayed well from coronavirus issues as has One Way International staff. I have stayed in contact with school administration for options to minister to staff as the school year winds down and with the owner of Kerrybrook Apartments for any needs that arise which OWI can help with. We will not return to Colonial Hills this school year as a volunteer group either in Kids Club or as staff support for the school. Staff are not permitted on campus unless there is a real need and even then,
We just wanted to give you an update on One Way International. Staff and volunteers are staying home as all have been directed, however we have been in contact with the school principal, SAMM partners, and Kerrybrook management. They all know we are ready and willing to help or provide in any way we can. They just need to give the word.
I have been on the One Way International staff for almost 20 years.
We are grateful for the opportunity provided by One Way International to help some who wanted to learn English. Some came and then stopped. Some came and were sincerely interested in what they were learning in ESL class. One godly couple had pre-decided to be punctual, attend class each week, be excited and eagerly anticipate what they were going to learn. Both were so willing to keep working as long as necessary to accomplish the goal for that session. Jose often told me, “I really like this class because I need to learn English.
I love being able to present the Gospel of Jesus to children in the public school. We are truly blessed by the cooperation of the Colonial Hills staff and administrators. It is a pleasure to work with the children in Kids Club and see them grow in their faith. Donna Hines—Kids Club
Teen Time has been meeting at the Kerrybrook Apartments for three years. We sing, study Bible passages, do book studies, have lots of discussion of life issues according to Biblical perspectives, and of course, we eat. Thanks to Jesse and Mary Mize Hellums we are able to take the teens on a summer retreat each year. We have 10 wonderful students and this is what some of them shared about Teen Time. Homer Schott shares—The Kids Clubs at Kerrybrook Apartments and the SAMM Shelter have been ongoing for almost 4 years and 3 years, respectively. While the focus at both places is evangelism and discipleship, the children at Kerrybrook are also enjoying the English as a Second Language (ESL) time. We have seen improvement in some of the children as they are challenged to work on their English each week. Four of our Kerrybrook 5th graders who have been with us since 2nd grade, will be graduating to Teen Time at the end of this school year. All are strong believers, a result of our consis
