May 3-7 is “Teacher Appreciation Week” and in partnership with Wayside Chapel we are giving all staff at Colonial Hills Elementary School a breakfast treat bag with a card that says, “You are out of this world!” Staff is always so appreciative to receive these reminders that someone is thinking of and praying for them. I often get emails from individuals at the school saying, “THANK YOU, your gift came at just the right time!”
Teen Time has begun! Six girls and five boys have come. We caught up with them on how life has been. They spoke of school and online learning as the groups are mixed in who is attending school in person. Thankfully none of them have had covid. All were very compliant with distancing and mask wearing. One of our boys has developed major physical illness but not covid which makes mask wearing more important than ever for the long term health of this teenager. Please pray for him and his family as they travel this journey. The disease is not contagious so no one else is at risk, just
Please pray:
• we will be able to get back to the school in the fall with all regular activities
• we will have all volunteers needed
• for students trusting in Christ and growing in their walk with Jesus
• for safety and protection for staff, students, families, and volunteers

We are overjoyed to be starting Kerrybrook Apartments Kids Club once again in May. The children so need to be able to be encouraged by the Word of God and our loving Kids Club team. We will meet with them each week throughout the summer. Please pray for God’s safety for the students and team, for understanding of God’s Word, and for a difference to be made in the lives of these precious children.
Teen Time has finally begun again and we are so happy to be back with our youth! It has been a difficult year for them and they have many questions about what God is doing in their lives. Please pray as Pete and Joyce reconnect with these amazing young people that we will be able to pour the love of God into their lives. We plan to meet with the teens throughout the summer and take them on a weekend retreat the first weekend of August.
Anne Cooney has graciously accepted bookkeeping responsibilities for OWI. She has been a major volunteer help in the past to OWI and is once again stepping into this very important role. Aimee will assist Anne in the daily posting, receipting, and balancing activities while Anne takes on the responsibility of payroll, payroll taxes, and other reporting to keep our ministry running smoothly.
Aimee Neugebauer, Administrative Assistant has accepted additional hours and responsibilities which Homer formally handeled. Joyce and Aimee will be dividing Homer’s workload and asking God to provide additional volunteers where needed. Aimee has been with our ministry for three years and is an invaluable asset to our organization.
