Thank you for praying for One Way International and for those with whom we serve! This month we want to share about some of the amazing students with whom we work in the local area.
Betsaida who is eighteen, came to this country when she was nine. She came with her mom from Honduras, and they walked and slept along the railroad tracks. She was barefoot while making her long journey. We met her when she was eleven. She has faithfully attended Teen Time for seven years.
Keyhla is a junior in high school. She was thrilled last November to celebrate Thanksgiving with her mom for the first time in her life. They had a turkey and family dinner all together, mom, brother, and little sister. Her mom has always worked on Thanksgiving. Now, with a new job, their family can be together on holidays. Keyhla has attended Kids Club and Teen Time for nine years!
Liam’s dad lives in Mexico. He lives with his mom and sister in San Antonio. Because of Covid we have only known him since 2021. He attended Kids Club and is now in Teen Time. He is a gentle, intelligent, and caring young man whom we love having in our Bible studies.
Cesar has attended Kids Club and Teen Time for several years. He is in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math) in his middle school—a program many of our students are in. Even though he has moved from the neighborhood in which we have Teen Time, his mother drives him to Teen Time every week and stays with friends while we are meeting!
It is such a blessing to study God’s Word and invest in the lives of our students each and every week!
As the 2022-23 school year winds down, we are already looking forward to the 2023-24 school year. Students will attend camp in June and retreat in July. We will be registering students for school supplies in July and distributing them in August. Below is a short list of items you can be on the look-out for if you enjoy purchasing school supplies for our students and families who register and so deeply appreciate your provision. If you prefer not to purchase items in person, we are always happy to receive donations and purchase for you.
