Teen Time retreat in July was amazing. The teens had so much fun—the adult leaders were outstanding—the spiritual growth and unity of our teens was unmatched from other retreats! We ate, played games, swam, ate some more—did crafts, rode horses, fed chickens, and ate some more—had Bible study, quiet times, worship, movies, and ate some more! Everyone was safe and we are excited about this coming year of Teen Time. One of our students graduated and joined the Navy so was not able to attend but we would love for you to keep these students in your regular prayers for safety, well-being, a
It’s June and that means His Hill Ranch Camp for 12 Kids ClubStudents!June 5th, twelve very excited girls and boys boarded a bus headed for His Hill Ranch Camp in Comfort, Texas. They and their families were grateful for the opportunity of a week-long camping experience. We were not able to send students to camp for the last two years due to Covid 19. I enjoyed taking them to camp and ge'ng them checked in. I le( and prayed they would have a great )me. I woke up during the week praying they were having a good week. All glory and honor and praise go to our GREAT BIG GOD! After almost two years absence, we once again held Kids Club at Colonial Hills Elementary starting in February 2022 and just ended our year on April 26. We had fifteen volunteers, four middle school helpers, fifty-six registered students, and an attendance of forty-two to forty-five students each week. Twenty-six students had perfect attendance! Twenty-nine students earned Hands-on Study Bibles for saying verses! Three fifth graders received plaques for having attended Kids Club for three years and all fifth graders were acknowl
Kids Club at the school is going well. We have 15 volunteers working with 56 registered students. Students are busily working on learning 7 memory verses by the end of April when club closes down for this year. The prize for learning all their verses is a Hands-On Study Bible. One newly admitted young man came to me and said, “I want to see the Bible and see if it’s worth learning the verses.” We showed him the Bible and he came back to me and perfectly recited 3 of the 7 verses. Apparently the Bible was worth learning the verses for! (smile) This has been such a blessed time for u
It was 5 weeks short of 2 years when we were able to provide Kids Club for the students on Colonial Hills campus once again. God provided a team of 14 amazing individuals, (2 team members the week before we started!) to meet weekly for Bible time and homework helps. As I look over the small groups during the second hour of club time, I smile. The students are leaning forward toward their leaders, totally attentive, and enjoying every minute of time they are there. Many have already recited 1 or more memory verses they have been challenged to learn this year. One set of parents comes
In January we were not able to begin Kids Clubs and Teen Time as planned due to high numbers of Covid cases. Instead, we did office work and planned for a February start of outreach ministry. Kids Club team for Colonial Hills was trained and gift cards were purchased for families of Teen Time students at the apartments where we serve. A donor designated funds for HEB gift cards for Teen Time families. These families received much needed funds for groceries after the holidays. Families are always appreciative of the needed food and gifts cards they receive.
Our combined Kids Club and Teen Time students enacted the nativity for an audience of 80 apartment residents and volunteers on December 17. Christmas carols were sung and the gospel and invitation to receive Christ was given. Christmas treat food bags were given door-to-door at every residence, hot chocolate and cookies were served at the performance, over 60 door prizes were given out and Bibles were available to anyone who desired one. New students were registered by their parents to join Kids Club in the spring and several interested adults signed up for Bible study and ESL classes.
We were blessed with financial gifts to cover a bag of groceries and gift card for every family at Kerrybrook Apartments for Thanksgiving. After lessons on kindness and service, our students were excited to hear that they would be able to participate in packing and delivering the bags of groceries.
